First things first - blogging is blocked (from what we can tell) in Beijing - Pablo had to get in through another way (computer geek that we are thankful he is...) so now on with the update! The trip over was perfect - no issues and our Saturday was the same. We visited the great wall (photo attached - where Pablo made it to the top - me, only the first tower, but I'm OK w/that) and it was really breathtaking. We had tea in a place that is like "Starbucks" to this country and learned about the finer points of brewing and drinking certain teas. Got to see the olympic village and the birdsnest and watercube - amazing structures that are now dormant as they cannot find anyone to use them. Dinner was interesting - went to a "locals" restaurant - had noodles and a grilled beef (we think...) two humungus beers and the grand total was just $10.00 US! Got a lot of information from our guide on what to expect from Ermei when we see her. Still totally excited and cannot wait. Sunday is a tour of Tienaman Square and the forbidden city then we travel to Shanyang where we'll meet Ermei on Monday. Hope the internet is less restrictive there - we'll have to see! Hugs and Kisses to you all!
